Billboards are most commonly found near interstates or major highways, however more and more cities are allowing these structures to be placed inside the city limits on busy streets.

Typically interstate billboards have advertisers such as hotels, convenience stores, casinos and restaurants. The billboards that are placed on local streets are more commonly used for advertisers such as financial institutions and custom retail stores such as carpet, building supplies, and western or formal wear.
